Intersect, Fab Food & New Car Smell…

Car shopping is now a deliciously satisfying and creative experience.

My husband is as obsessed and knowledgeable about cars as I am about the NY Giants.

I decided to take him shopping somewhere he would enjoy.

The other day we went to browse at Intersect By Lexus, the intersection of car and food.

The website states that Intersect by Lexus “is a unique, permanent space where people can experience the ethos of the Lexus lifestyle without getting behind the steering wheel…a place for guests to be entertained, inspired and educated in Tokyo, Dubai and NYC.”

Off we went to the Meatpacking district.

Intersect is the first of Lexus’ cultural programming destinations to offer a full service restaurant.

It is definitely a pleasing endeavor.

I ended up drooling over both the car and the food.

Intersect is visually stunning and smells of new car and class.

Intersect Cafe

On the ground floor is the Lexus prototype jewel which you can ogle while sipping espresso and enjoying a sweetie.

The cafe is next to the car display and open all day.

Intersect Bathroom

After that experience you must go to the bathroom, a stunning marble, sparkling clean edifice complete with heated toilet seats.

As you ascend the impressive staircase you take in the unique artistic car parts montage.

Intersect Bar

On the second floor to the left is an attractive bar shaped like a wheel, serving tempting snacks and a modern, spare yet elegant dining room located on the right.

Intersect Dining Room

The concept highlights a rotating line up of super chefs from around the world who plan to launch a fresh concept every 4 to 6 months.

Interesect by Lexus NYC is a collaboration between Lexus and Union Square Hospitality Group, headed by Danny Meyer.

Intersect Kitchen

To kick things off Chef Greg Marchand of Frenchie in Paris is the first Chef-In-Residence.

We have had the pleasure of dining at Frenchie several times.

The menu is tintillating.

Service is flawless. Our server, Jeremiah, was a delight.

We chose the 2 course $35 lunch.

The dinner menu is more extensive and features Frenchie’s foie gras.

Cremant

I selected a fabulous Cremant de Bourgogne to settle into our afternoon delight ($16).

The bread was soft and light on the inside with a wonderful crispy crust and luscious butter.

Burrata

David started off with the Burrata with grilled pear and a housemade granola. It was amazing ($15).

Baby Leeks

I ordered the Baby Leeks with parmesan sabayon, a smoked and lemon-spiked egg yolk and pulled barley…an unbelievable combination of flavors ($16).

The mains were very appealing.

Lobster Roll

There is much chatter about the Carrots, but David chose the Lobster Roll which was divine, served on a fabulous toasted brioche ($21).

Fried Chicken

I went with the Fried Chicken just because. The crust was crispy and delicious. The portion includes 4 pieces, half of which I took home. A bacon scone adorned the platter with a wonderful honey dipping sauce as well as a jalapeño aioli on the side ($16).

Desserts are works of art by pastry chef, Kazou Fujimura.

Tarte Tatin

We had already been tempted by the Tarte Tatin at Frenchie in Paris so that was a must and it did not disappoint ($13).

Yuzu Mont Blanc

The manager, Matthew Salazar, who is such a gracious host, sent over a luscious and beautifully presented Yuzu Mont Blanc with chestnut cream and yogurt-yuzu sherbet.

Lunch was a relaxing, delectable interlude.

Craftsman Collection

On the way out, check out the Crafted for Lexus display of original, handcrafted accessories by master craftspeople located by the entrance.

Intersect satiates all your senses and is an absolutely maaaavelous way to spend an afternoon or evening…baby, you can drive my car there anytime.
