Other than football I have not watched television or seen a movie in three months.
Having some spur of the moment physical limitations I settled down and watched two movies and binged a series.
The Fabelman’s, a semi-autobiographical story inspired by Steven Spielberg’s own family and upbringing, is both intriguing and entertaining.
The cast is superb, featuring an outstanding performance from Michelle Williams. The movie is a definite thumbs up.
The Menu, on the other hand, gave me indigestion. This is one trendy restaurant where I will not be seeking a reservation.
If you are suffering through a bad day, feeling glum or have the winter doldrums do not watch, The Banshees of Inisherin. Yes, the acting is excellent, but have mercy, why do we need to be depressed? Even the donkey dies…holy crap.
Watched Saturday Night Live for the first time in months…some funny moments. Loved all the guest appearances by President Biden, Amy Poehler, Tony Hawk, The Property Brothers. Allison Williams and Sharon Stone.
Musical guest, Sam Smith and his eclectic wardrobe left me cold. Guest host, Aubrey Plaza with a new blonde ‘do, was pleasingly brittle.
I just binged Season Two of The White Lotus on HBO Max. Jennifer Coolidge is a larger than life character. I would happily watch her just reading the headlines of today’s daily papers.
Season 2 has many heightened moments of intrigue and sexuality. The Sicilian locations are amazing.
That’s entertainment.
