Daughter Of Mine…

I never stop being a mom.

I am certain this is a universal realization.

My daughter was working in Los Angeles last week and stayed through Sunday for a wedding.

My mothering radar kicked in immediately.

I cleaned her already clean room, changed the sheets, set aside fresh towels, bought flowers.

I hung up her clothes when she arrived, gathered her dirty laundry and immediately did a wash.

In turn, I employed her technical TV skills and online expertise.

She had a business dinner Friday night with a client so we played the home version of Project Runway.

It was raining so I suggested the safest route home and of course waited up until she arrived.

I had the coffee ready to go in the morning.

Saturday, I whipped up omelettes and fruit and we sat around the dining room table discussing politics, the state of the world and future financial planning.

We took her to her favorite sushi restaurant for lunch.

I had so much fun participating in the pre-wedding glamification process…it was prom deja vu.

Her carriage awaited and we deposited our Princess at the venue and naturally, yet covertly, awaited her late return from the Beverly Hills wedding.

Daylight saving rudely cheated me out of an extra hour with my bestie, but we had time for a recap while packing.

Parting is such sweet sorrow…it was a teary farewell as Ms. Fabulosity headed to LAX for her return home.

Motherhood is such a rewarding experience with a daughter like Courtny.
