I journeyed to northern France on Monday, indulging in Cremant and Alsatian wines.
The train from Paris is a quick 2 hours and you enter a different world which at this time of year is decked out in holiday finest.
Strasbourg is a larger city. We stayed in the picturesque UNESCO La Petit France district at a fabulous hotel, Regent Petit French.
The imposing Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Strasbourg, in the center of town, took 400 years to complete.
Tuesday we took a 25 minute train ride to the adorably colorful and vibrant Colmar…BTW, train travel in Europe is fast, efficient and very reasonable.
Both places offered boat cruises to see the sights I loved the wooden mini barge cruise in Colmar.
Today off to our home near Bordeaux. Au Revoir Strasbourg.
