A sunny, serene Sunday.
Take me out to the ballgame.
And that’s exactly were we spent the day.
Keeping with the theme of…If It’s Sunday, it’s Donna Reed time (the quintessential mother and wife of middle America in the 50’s and 60’s), we hopped a crowded D train and in 25 minutes we were in the land of Peanuts and Cracker Jacks.
We witnessed the best of the NY Yankees pitching staff with Severino starting the game and going 8 strong innings, Robertson coming in to relieve in the 8th and Aroldis Chapman bringing on the heat in the 9th.
The Yankees had some great hits and Hicks and Stanton sacrificed their bodies in the outfield.
After the final out of the game, the spirited crowd surged towards the exits, singing New York, New York.
We had great seats and for $45 we sang, danced, screamed, ate, cheered and had an absolutely maaaavelous time with those Damn Yankees.
Sunday was a home run family day.
