(Almost) Free, Fun & Fabulous…

So many opportunities in New York City to stimulate the mind and have a fabulous time without spending oodles of money.

Wednesday, I attended a very moving, raw, honest one woman show.

Accidentally Brave is a true, highly personal story about a marriage that imploded early one morning.

Everyone has secrets, but this one almost destroyed a marriage and the inherent values of a family of five.

With raw vulnerability and humor, actor and playwright, Maddie Corman, shares her story of perseverance and hope.

I was able to purchase a $25 ticket and had a million dollar experience.

Recently, I wandered over to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to check out the new rooftop exhibit.

I am a member, but remember you can pay what you like.

Museum goers are not committed to the $25 entrance fee.

This year for the annual site specific installation by a living artist, Berlin born Alicja Kwade has created ParaPivot I and II.

The work looks like a science project to me…it makes sense since the artist, born in 1979, grew up with a cultural scientist and conservator mother and an art historian father.

Her works consistently revolve around the intersection of art and science.

i found it uninspired, but the view is worth everything.

I also checked out, Play It Loud.

Lady Gaga’s piano

For the first time, a major museum exhibition examines the instruments of rock and roll.

Prince

The exhibition is co-organized with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and presents 130 instruments alongside posters and costumes.

Many of rock’s most celebrated and recognized instruments are featured.

Leonardo da Vinci Sketch

I did a drive by, viewing four rare drawings by Leonardo da Vinci and the usual dosage of Impressionist paintings and Rodin sculpture.

Central Park

I headed home through Central Park which is jaw dropping gorgeous right now.

The tulips, cherry blossoms and greenery are so worth seeing and it’s all free.

If money is an issue, do not let that stop you from many, many exciting NYC experiences.

And remember, If you are bored in NYC then you’re probably deceased so lie down and give in.
