All That Glitters…

I
I am sticking to my belief that if you are bored in NewYork City then you are dead.

Friday night was date night. My prenup with my husband is that he has to ask me out on a date every week  I am happy to report that in 441/2 years of togetherness he has never missed a week.

The romance continues…if not, I would be outta here!

We enjoyed martinis and escargot at Bar Boulud and then headed to the lovely new restaurant, Canto, for Caesar’s and pasta.

Saturday, we walked 91/2 miles.

Our favorite secret section of Central Park is above 100th Street. We happily explored and then were inches away from being hit on the sidewalk by a mini van. The driver was either drunk or reading his phone. He thankfully swerved, smashed his car taking an entire line of barricades with him and never stopped.

Saturday night we were Broadway bound and attended, Yellow Face, starting Daniel  Dae Kim.  Tony Award winner and three-time Pulitzer finalist David Henry Hwang of M. Butterfly fame, presumably presents his life up  close and personal through Yellow Face. Interesting, clever storytelling, but not recommended.

Romance did not fade. Early Sunday morning I lounged and caught up on college football and the NFL Today and my fabulous husband walked the dog, did a wash and went out to purchase a lox and bagel breakfast to enjoy in bed.

By 10:15am we had completed a marathon shop at Trader Joe’s. We were #107 in line. It was as if they were giving food away for free.

By 11am we were enjoying coffee by the Hudson River and completed our 12,000 steps before kick off.

After football and 60 Minutes we settled in to watch the Emmys to see if our daughter’s client, Alan Cumming, won and to catch a glimpse of her in the audience.

I am happy to report that Alan Cumming won for the host of The Traitors and accepted the Emmy for outstanding reality or competition series serving as producer.

Another fun, memorable weekend in Manhattan and some fan girling for my gorgeous, talented daughter.
