Omakase prices are astronomical in New York City.
If you love, adore and crave sushi then I have the place for you.
And the price point at the recently opened Kazumi is phenomenal.
13 courses for $75.
The only catch is you are limited to one hour dining.
I went in a bit bummed that I had only 60 minutes for a Saturday night dining experience.
Seriously, I never felt rushed at any point and we had time to enjoy a large bottle of excellent dry sake ($90).
Our talented, informative sushi maker served our party and one other lending itself to very personal service.
Sushi that we devoured…Amberjack, Sea Bream, New Zealand Salmon, Hamachi, Squid, Scallops, Tuna, Medium Fatty Tuna from Spain, Toro with Chinese Caviar, Japanese Uni, Waygu, Sea Eel and a yummy Cheesecake dessert.
We added on a Uni Flight with pieces from the best Uni locations, Maine, Santa Barbara and Japan ($25).
We were also tempted by the Toro, Scallop and Caviar special ($18).
Here is a brief tour of some of the sushi included in the 13-course omakas.
Kazumi which only opened two months ago is a delight.
The $75 price tag is a bargain for top grade, delicious omakase along with gracious, efficient service in a tranquil setting.
