Amazing.
Unbelievable.
Period.
I only wish that I could circulate a sampling of the incredible food that I devoured at brilliant newcomer, Gabriel Kreuther.
I am a foodie and have eaten at a large number of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
Gabriel Keuther deserves to be on the list.
The staff is perfection, especially the endearing Cody who joined Gabriel Kreuther from Eleven Madison Park.
The ambiance is elegant yet calming and welcoming. The food beyond any expectations.
Let the culinary journey commence.
We indulged in the four course fixed price extravaganza.
We toasted the achievement of 32 years together with the best martini…ever. Beautifully etched chilled glass, delicious olives. No Chopin, but they shook the Ketel One to Bond perfection.
We started out with a tantalizingly artistic amuse bouche.
My sophisticated French four course fare began with Compressed Hamachi with black truffle, foie gras terrine and celery.
David selected the Langoustine with flying fish roe, cauliflower and macadamia purée.
My divine second course was Seared Sullivan County Foie Gras, spring onions, basil, pickled green strawberries.
The magic continued with the third course of Grilled Maine Lobster, smoked potato, mint, shellfish-coconut emulsion.
David ordered the Roasted Diver Scallops with herb crumble, hen of the woods, riesling-cockle sauce.
Meat was also available (quail, Colorado Wagyu beef strip loin, squab and foie gras).
We cleansed our palates, preparing for the remarkable desserts.
I opted for the Awakening, a strawberry poached rhubarb with buttermilk panna cotta and strawberry sorbet.
David indulged in Comfort with sautéed cherries, almond mousseline and sable breton.
We were also treated to a chocolate Anniversary sensation.
The magic did not end there…additional sweets were presented just in case you were not satiated.
A farewell gift of cookies were presented so that the following day, after dreaming about Gabriel Kreuther, you could consume more goodness.
Cody guided us into the center of the Kreuther universe to witness the genius up close and personal.
Executive Chef Gabriel Kreuther worked extensively throughout Europe before bringing his talent to the U.S.
He began at La Caravelle followed by Restaurant Jean-George Central Park before moving onto Atelier in the Ritz-Carlton, culminating in a decade at The Modern in the Museum of Modern Art.
Next time, my goal is to sit at the chef’s table to observe the incredibly talented staff make magic.
Overlooking verdant Bryant Park, Gabriel Kreuther should top your restaurant bucket list.
Gabriel Kreuther is a MUST.
Saving the best for last…thank you and a huge shout out to our amazing daughter who planned the magnificent anniversary celebration.
