My daughter is definitely my partner in crime as well as my bestie.

Last week, we anointed Tuesday, Movie Madness Day.

We woke up early and were in our seats by 9am for the early bird showing of, The Big Short.

It is terrific…exciting, creative, intelligent, clever and informative…the best movie I have seen in a long time.

The Big Short sparked an in depth discussion regarding the 2008 Stock Market crash, the failed bank bailout and the mid 2000’s mortgage housing crisis in the U.S.

We then headed into the showing of Sisters with the usually dynamite duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

I adore them, but the movie was incredibly stupid.

Going for the hat trick, we hit up the 3pm showing of, The Danish Girl. Alicia Vikander and Eddie Redmayne were both excellent, but Vikander stole the show.

The movie was beautifully shot and mildly entertaining, loosely inspired by the lives of married Danish painters Gerda Wegener and Lili Elbe (Einar Wegener) who was one of the first known recipients of sex reassignment surgery.

Not having quite enough stimulation, we tackled the apres Christmas sales and then decided to have manicures. Tragic how nails tend to be abused when delegated to the critic job of sorting through racks of marked down items.

In all honesty, I couldn’t ask for a better co-conspirator.

My motto regarding child rearing…Do it once. Do it right.
