Saturday In The Park…

Oh, what a beautiful morning.

That was the reaction to the day on the way to our Flywheel class at 9:30 on Saturday.

Spin Queen, Emily, played some awesome tunes and we worked so hard they had to bring in wet towels to extinguish the fire from within.

Spinning to, Blurred Lines, inspired me to fly as fast as possible.

We stopped for coffee, walked the dogs in Central Park, cleaned up and yet again, headed across the Park to the retail heartland.

Destination…Bloomingdales to see if the groovy Ted Baker sneakers I gifted David for Valentine’s Day came in size 13…they grow them big in South Africa.

We perused the merch, but I am still on shopping hiatus.

50 days and counting since I made a personal purchase.

My own, self-imposed 12-step retail program, going cold turkey…a moritorium on mainlining shoes, bags and accessories.

Mac & Cheese

Mac & Cheese at Flip in Bloomingdale’s on 59th Street is outrageous.

Crispy crust on the outside and creamy and rich on the inside.

The time to indulge is definitely after trying on clothes.

Satiated, we headed over to 5th Avenue and the one and only, Bergdorf Goodman.

We scoped out the bags and shoes and there were literally 100 women gawking and scooping up $1000 plus shoes…mostly Gucci.

I enjoy the masochism…need to test my fortitude and inner strength so that I am prepared for life’s constant, bigger challenges.

FYI…and more importantly, floral is trending for spring.

Suddenly, the world pivoted and the sunny, cloudless day turned cold and grey.

Homeward bound, we hightailed through Central Park, only stopping to ask Big Bird why he was nesting in NYC (ABCDEFG).

Scant moments passed, the sun dipped and then the aggressive snowstorm hit.

Life is full of surprises.
