Recently, an exquisite exhibit of Picasso Sculpture opened at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Last week I perused the stellar exhibit. Although Picasso is most famously known as a painter, his sculptures included some of the most innovative and revolutionary art of the era.

Being a member I was able to sneak in at 9:30am and the museum was relatively empty until a UN delegation stampede occurred, blocking all access. Fortunately, I was on my way out.

A picture says a 1,000 words so I am going to allow Picasso’s work to speak for itself.

The show is broken down into periods. The first being Early Works and the First Cubist Sculptures 1902-1909.

Fortunately, I have had the pleasure of viewing many of the sculptures at the newly renovated Picasso Museum in Paris as well as the small Picasso Museum in Antibes, France.
