High Tea At BG…

A perfect day with my amazing daughter.

Mother’s Day had to be pushed out as we were in different states.

Recently, we made up for lost time.

Courtny extended an invitation to High Tea at Bergdorf Goodman and we had a pinky’s up adventure.

The ceremony kicked off with a glass of divine Veuve Cliquot champagne.

I was already giddy with joy so why not increase the elation level.

A lovely silver tiered tea tray was presented with a selection of small crustless sandwiches…tuna, chicken, salmon with caviar, egg, cream cheese.

the highlight were the fresh scones, clotted creme and strawberry jam.

Let us not forget the macaroons, petits fours and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing.

The Dammann Freres tea was exceptional.

We selected the Nuit A Versailles with green sencha basis, bergamot, essential oil, kiwi, yellow peach, orange and violet blossom.

The view of Central Park was tantalizing.
And, while my constant goal is to entertain as well as educate, I thought I would pass along this bit of back story…In the 19th century, the pairing of tea with a light snack to quiet the hunger between an early lunch and a late-night dinner became known as “afternoon tea.”

So there.

Afterwards, we shopped and Courtny found the most gorgeous leather designer jacket that retailed for $1500.

The final markdown was jaw dropping.

We cruised the shoes, of course stopping to see if the glass slipper fit and then, whilst in the ‘hood, popped into Barneys and Chanel.

Just being with my daughter is enough.

But, add in retail therapy along with a scrumptious high tea and a state of ultimate bliss was achieved.
